Types Of Education


Education is the most efficient & effective way of teaching & learning the basic & advanced skills & knowledge. Being the foundation of our society, schooling encompasses our lives by stimulating our minds & molding them in to intellectual ones. In simple words, schooling permits us to learn different ways of learning things & doing them. As compared to the yesteryears, schooling received by todayâ??s students is more structured & conceptualized. While there was no formal schooling technique in the primeval period, the modern days have come up with different types of schooling classified according to a personâ??s potential & age. Given here are some kinds of schooling followed by most of the countries. Take a glance!

Different Kinds Of Schooling

Formal Schooling
Formal schooling comprises of the basic schooling that a person receives at school. The basics, academic & trade skills are exposed to the person through formal schooling. Thus, this type of schooling is also often called mainstream or traditional schooling. Beginning with nursery schooling, a person learns the various aspects as they advances towards primary, secondary & higher schooling. While nursery, primary & secondary schooling are received by a student at a school, higher schooling, or postsecondary schooling, is usually disclosed at a college or university.

Casual Schooling
Casual schooling includes educating through casual communication & reading books. In general, casual schooling is edifying someone outside the basic type of schooling, that is, in schools, & without the use of any learning methods.

Special Schooling
Mentally challenged & handicapped students are educated through special learning methods, known as special schooling. For a student to be admitted in to a special schooling school they is first evaluated on the various parameters of disabilities & accordingly, his eligibility is determined.

Adult Schooling
Adult schooling is the system of educating the adults as it aims towards educating an adult on literacy, other basic skills & various job skills. Also often called adult basic schooling, adult literacy schooling or school equivalency preparation, adult schooling can be categorized in to further categories: formal class based schooling, e-learning & self-directed learning.

Types Of Academic Schooling

Nursery Schooling
Also known as simple or preschool schooling, nursery schooling is step towards gaining formal schooling. It includes nursery school and kindergarten. This stage marks the stepping of the kid from the comforts of a home to the world outside. Nursery schooling is usually given to kids between the age of three and five years.

Primary Schooling
After nursery schooling, a kid is exposed to primary schooling where they establishes his foundation on various subjects, like arithmetic, science, social sciences and language. Primary schooling starts from the age of five or 6 and continues on for the next 6 to 8 years. However, the age of primary schooling and the subjects taught differ from country to another.

Secondary Schooling
Secondary schooling is the final stage that a kid undergoes in a school in the work of his adolescence. The schooling format transforms from a comprehensive primary schooling to optional and specialized training subjects. Here, they receives detailed information and knowledge on his preferred subjects.

Higher Schooling
Schooingl gets over with secondary schooling and a student now enrolls himself in an undergraduate and post graduate college or university to get the highest level of schooling in his subjects of specialization. Also known as tertiary schooling, higher schooling is a non-compulsory level of schooling.
